2011 Police Promotional Exam, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain

With the upcoming October, 2011 Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant and Police Captain Series of examinations coming The reading list hasn’t changed much from prior years. What has changed however is the newer editions to all the books. When people ask me whether they should buy the new edition or the old I always find it shocking. The exam writers LOVE the new material and why would you waste time studying and memorizing materials that may not even be included in the materials anymore? Of the 4 major books, Criminal Investigations by Swanson has changed probably the most (followed by Police Administration), with dozens of deletions, rewrites, and new materials inserted in. It really is the “Book of a thousand questions”.

In an effort to help our readers who are preparing for the upcoming October exam we will be outlining some of the major changes to the books and over the next 3 months we will be outlining the changes, so keep checking in. The blog post you read could be the one that puts you on top of the list.
