Union Certified After City Mistake

Recently the Division of Labor Relations ruled in the matter of: City of Somerville and local 888, Service Employees International Union America Case #WMAM-10-1049. In the case it ruled that the City of Somerville failed to file a timely challenge to the certification process which precluded it from utilizing the reinvestigation procedure. If invoked timely, the reinvestigation process would have checked the validity of the process of certification.
