Criminal Investigation 10th edition Changes

In Chapter 7, the section on the Intelligience Analytical cycle has been changed. Although a minor addition, it added a new last step to the process. The significance is obvious where if the question states “What is the last step in the Intelligence Analytical process?”

The intelligence analytical cycle
the intelligence analytical cycle is driven by the needs of the client or end-user, who, for purposes of illustration, maybe the commander of the task force working a serial murder case or the supervisor of an investigation unit trying to find the pattern in a string of violent convenience store robberies.

2. collection is the gathering and management of raw data which is then analyzed produce the finished product
3. processing, raw information from all sources is converted into a form that can be used by analysts. One of the key considerations in processing is ensuring that the data processing methods in the à la the techniques that will be used.
4. Analysis and production, the data that have been processed are translated into a finished intelligence product.
5. Dissemination, the dissemination of the finished intelligence report to the end-user who requested it.
